Good morning and welcome back to Monday. I hope this finds everyone well and staying safe. With everything else going on, it’s sometimes tempting to ignore the fact that we are still in the midst of a global pandemic—and one that is likely to continue for some time, even with the vaccine distribution commencing.
Anecdotally, and in our own communities, we have witnessed the toll this has taken on children and families, and we know that the confluence of circumstances created by the pandemic is a virtual breeding ground for abuse. But with mandated reporters cut off from access to children, and with the numbers of incident reports and investigations far below what they typically are, how do we know for certain what the risks are?
